MANUFACTURING
The manufacturing process for artificial grass includes several steps. We would like to introduce to you one by one. All types of the artificial grass are produced by following procedure.
RAW MATERIALS PREPARING
Prepare raw materials (Polyethylene or Polypropylene) and other necessary ingredients (Color master batches, Anti-aging batches, etc) to put into a hopper together. Blend all these materials and mix them thoroughly. This step will determine the artificial grass color.
EXTRUDING
The extruder machine is in charge of extruding these mixed materials into long and thin strands. Vivigrass has kinds of extruder moulds including C,W,D,S,M,V,WS,CS shapes for various function in the application. This step will determine the artificial grass shapes. After heated into water, the stands are rolled up into many tubby rolls to wait for twisting.
TWISTING
The tubby rolls will enter into the twisting machine, then the strands will have some straightness accordingly and become the available yarn to be used for tufting.
TUFTING
The twisted yarns will enter into the tufting machine by tube separately. The tufting machine will weave the yarns into the base cloth. So the grass carpet is produced. Usually the base cloth is composed of 2 layers Polypropylene and 1 layer net. This step will determine the artificial grass specifications including: pile height, stitches rate, density, Gauge and backing.
COATING-DRYING- PERFORATING
When the artificial grass carpet is ready, it needs to be coated a latex on the backing to fix the yarn on the carpet. Next, the artificial grass carpet is taken to a dry machine to make the latex dry and cure.
ROLLING-PACKAING
At last, the artificial grass carpet is rolled and packaged by waterproof non-woven bags or Polypropylene bags.
